Not Your Typical Tex-Mex

Diner Review – January 19, 2013
Having traveled a lot to Mexico, I can tell you that this is not your typical Tex-Mex food that is found in many Mexican restaurants in the area. Granted, I like Tex-Mex, but this is more authentic. Traditional Mexican food is not smothered in cheese, sour cream, and salsa. Service was a bit slow on a busy Friday night, but overall, the five people at our table enjoyed their meals. I can personally recommend the chicken enchiladas. They were very good.

The food was great. I ordered takeout for lunch, and it was delicious. The Chile Relleno was perfect. I loved the Spanish rice too! I will definitely be ordering again soon.

Cinco Mexican Restaurant is a great place. I'm from Mexico. Last month, with my son, I visited Pittsburgh to see the Steelers game. We wanted Mexican food and went to Cinco Mexican Restaurant. The food has typical Mexican flavor which was fantastic.

I just had takeout for lunch, and it was amazing!! The fajita lunch portion was huge and delicious. I can't wait to warm up my leftovers later.

A friend and I went to Cinco Mexican Restaurant one night this week because I'd been driving by it for a while and wanted to try it. Overall, our experience was very good. We liked the look and decor of the place, and the easy parking was a great thing. Our server was really nice and got everything right. Our margaritas were delicious and STRONG (worth the price that we thought was a bit high at first).

Cinco Mexican Restaurant has an extensive menu with offerings organized regionally. The waiter was friendly and helpful. The food arrived quickly and was very good! I especially liked the pozole (with chicken). Plus, the prices were reasonable, and there was ample parking. I will definitely return to try more dishes.
